Very nice small-scale vegetarian restaurant. Dosa was great, and so was the chat. Just wish that with their growth, they switch to steel plates and utensils that way, you really get to enjoy the food.

They have really improved their quality and service. In love with the crisp dosa and vadas. Thallis are good options as well. They can include couple of extra items based on what they show in the screen. Price point is reasonable. Sweets can be improved further I think but overall we enjoy going here every now and then to sort our cravings for closest to Bengaluru style dosa.

The ambience of the café is warm and inviting, with a charming aesthetic that draws you in right away. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. What truly stood out for me were the Indian sweets – they brought back a sense of home and nostalgia. Everything was well-maintained and thoughtfully presented. A lovely spot for comfort and good vibes.

I always visit Cafe Tatva and it has been my favourite, I really enjoy my time there. The place has a warm and cozy vibe that makes you feel comfortable. The food was the best part. Everything i tried was super tasty and felt fresh. I especially love all the Indian breakfast items, lunch combos, panipuri and Samosa chat. They also serve fresh fruit juice that felt so tasty and natural without adding any artificial ingredients. The staff were friendly, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it is a great experience. If you are someone who enjoys good food and relaxed ambience, I would definitely recommend giving cafe tatva a try.

Overall its a decent experience. Loved the curries in the Thali. It tasted like homemade. Felt like they could have served their best sweets in thali, but they did other way. Served their worst one I guess. Not to criticize but felt like it.

Heard about this new veg place - Tatva Cafe in Ellisville and we were excited to try it! Especially because they seem to have chaats and a thali, beyond the usual dosas etc. Very pleased! Thali was banging. The best bits were the thick daal and the chhole. Thoughtfully placed items including the achar and barfi. Idli was fluffy and nice. The lemongrass-type chutney was novel to me. Dosa - the sambar was not as thick and lush as I personally like, and the dosa was not as thin/crispy as the Curry Club in Chesterfield. But I later came to learn this is their specific style. Paper dosa would be an entirely different dish. Pani puri - so hard to get it perfect especially if they're doing it full Gujarati style. This was a simpler style. Pani seemed fresh and good. There's no question that we're coming back. Next time we'll attack the chaat-type dishes and I was stuffed so got a pau bhaji takeout. The wooden spoons were eco and a good idea, but not deep enough to hold much. A tiny thing but it adds up. Larger paper napkins would be good too. For a bit of context we are from London, and nowhere matches the quality of Gujarati food in NW London. We came to STL a decade ago to launch our workflow app - Tallyfy. So relative to great places in London it's obviously not a fair comparison. But this place fills a large gap in the Guj/chaat restaurant category in St. Louis.

We stopped by this new place — overall, the experience was good! We tried the Irani chai, papdi chaat, and dahi puri. The Irani chai was authentic and the papdi chaat tasted great. The dahi puri also had good flavor, but the only issue was that the puris got soggy quickly due to the curd. It would be better if they stuffed the puris first and added the curd separately when serving, or offered the curd on the side for us to add ourselves. Overall, it was a nice visit and we look forward to coming back to try more dishes!
